While Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce contemplated retirement following the team’s blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, the 35-year-old is returning to play for the 2025 NFL season.
“I got a bad taste in my mouth for how I ended the year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was for the people around me,” Kelce said on his “New Heights” podcast.
“I feel like there’s a responsibility in me to play out the contract that I initially signed, to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization everything that I got, and that’s what I’m gonna do, man.”
While Kelce called the defeat an “all-time low,” his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, didn’t have the best experience at the Super Bowl either. The Eagles-heavy crowd booed the pop star as they showed her on the jumbotron.

Kelce and Swift have kept a low profile ever since the Super Bowl. While a source told Page Six that they went on an international vacation last month, the location of the romantic getaway was not revealed.
“Taylor and Travis have stepped out for a date night since returning to the US but went unnoticed when they did so,” the source added. “They weren’t photographed or anything, and enjoyed a low-key night out on the town together.”
However, Deuxmoi reported on March 8 that the 14-time Grammy winner and Kelce were spotted “in a city outside of Los Angeles this past week. We’ll keep the details on the DL for the sake of their privacy right now.”

“Travis is just as loved-up as ever,” Deuxmoi reported, noting how he wears a good luck charm with a nod to Swift while he playing football. “It’s only fitting they take some necessary R&R to be a normal couple.”
“So whether we next see Taylor and Travis on a hot date night in NYC or another romantic getaway, they’re not going anywhere. Call it what you want, but there’s absolutely zero trouble in paradise for T.S. and T.K.”
With Kelce and Swift earning multiple nominations at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, fans hope they make red carpet debut together at the ceremony on March 17.
