DONE DEAL: Chiefs re-signing WR Marquise Brown to one-year deal worth up to $11 million

BREAKING: Chiefs Re-Signing Wide Receiver

Kansas City will be giving Hollywood another try in 2025.

Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is re-signing with the Chiefs on a one-year deal worth up to $11 million, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Saturday, per sources.

Brown joined K.C. this time last year on a similar one-year contract but the shoulder injury he suffered in the preseason marred his debut campaign with the Chiefs.

After a long recovery which required surgery, Brown wasn’t able to play until Week 16, limiting him to just nine receptions for 91 yards in two regular-season games. His late-season arrival appeared to hinder his postseason production, too. In three playoff games, including the Chiefs’ loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Brown produced five catches for 50 yards.

Brown’s lost season wasn’t enough to faze the Chiefs, however, and the 27-year-old will now look to become the speedy deep threat they originally intended him to be with another one-year contract. He was ranked No. 41 overall in Gregg Rosenthal’s Top 101 Free Agents of 2025 list.

Despite locking up Brown for another year, Kansas City still has plenty of work to do in shoring up Patrick Mahomes’ wide-receiving targets for 2025.

Veterans DeAndre Hopkins, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Justin Watson and Mecole Hardman are all headed for free agency, which officially begins on March 12. Standout WR Rashee Rice is also recovering from a season-ending knee injury he suffered midway through 2024.
