Kansas City Chiefs fans and Taylor Swift supporters alike were celebrating after Travis Kelce recently announced his decision to play on for at least another season.
There was a lot of uncertainty surrounding his NFL future after the All-Pro tight end himself admitted that he was, indeed, considering retirement.
Kelce will be back in 2025, though, as he looks to make up for the Chiefs’ heartbreaking Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The defeat followed the Grammy Awards a week before, which saw Swift lose all six of her nominations on the music industry’s biggest night.
According to a new report by Radar Online, these unwanted turn of events for the power couple “have been a real dose of reality” and “their fantasy bubble has been popped.”
The said report also reveals that Kelce’s decision not to retire has clashed with Swift’s plans for their relationship.
“She wants to get married and start a family, and now is the time,” RadarOnline’s source revealed. “Privately, she’s hoping Kelce will retire, but she’ll support him through another year of football if that’s what he wants.”

It appears that this is also the same type of mindset she has taken on in terms of the 10-time Pro Bowler’s decision to return to the Chiefs, despite Swift’s reported desire to take the next steps in their relationship.
For what it’s worth, Kelce’s current contract with Kansas City will end after the 2025 season.
This means that unless he signs another extension, he will be out of contract at the end of the upcoming campaign.
This season could be Kelce’s swansong, and Swift will reportedly stand behind her man.
What happens beyond this upcoming season — both with Kelce’s football career and his relationship with Swift — is anybody’s guess at this point.
