Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and girlfriend Taylor Swift have been together for roughly one year and seven months, at least that’s what fans have been led to believe.
However, according to Kelce’s neighbor, that may not be factually accurate. Swift is on-record admitting that she started talking to Kelce back in July 2023 right after he mentioned her on his “New Heights” podcast.
The 10-time All-Pro mentioned that he just missed meeting up with the 14-time Grammy winner at one of the concerts she played, where he planned to give her a bracelet with his phone number on it.
The couple hard-launched their relationship a few months later when Swift attended a Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium, and they’ve been in the spotlight ever since.
But during a recent appearance on the “RHAP” podcast, Wes Bergmann of MTV fame, who also lives next door to Kelce in his Leawood, Kansas gated community, divulged that the three-time Super Bowl champion actually struck up his romance with the “Shake It Off” singer long before they went public.
“I was like the first person to know about any of this stuff,” Bergmann said on the “RHAP” podcast. “And I tried to tell [podcast host Michelle Fitzgerald] a long time ago ‘they are together, just so you know’ and she didn’t believe it.
She didn’t believe it, she was like ‘she only goes for artists.’ I beat the validating of her showing up to games and stuff by six months.”
If Bergmann’s claims are true, then he knew about the high-profile romance even before Kelce’s own family did.
Kelce’s sister-in-law Kylie revealed back in early February during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that the 35-year-old kept his relationship with Swift a secret from her and his brother Jason Kelce for some time before they officially found out.
“We were not [told about his relationship with Swift at first],” Kylie stated. “I will say we knew before everyone else knew, but it was not like [he told us right away]. … Jason and I found out together, but we knew before they hard-launched before going to a game.”
