JUST IN: LeBron James Just 1 Point Away From Making NBA History

LeBron James Just 1 Point Away From Making NBA History

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was so close to making history once again on Sunday. However, he came up just one point short of achieving the feat that has never been seen before in the league.

James entered the Lakers’ game against the Los Angeles Clippers with a combined 49,982 points—41,820 in the regular season and 8,162 in the playoffs.

This meant that he only needed 18 points to breach the 50,000-point mark.

As mentioned, no other player has ever reached this milestone, and considering that James was averaging 24.9 points per game heading to the contest, many expected him to be the first to ever do it.

Disappointingly, however, James finished with just 17 points after struggling with his shot.

He was 6-of-17 from the field, including 1-of-6 from deep.

The Lakers forward also had five rebounds, nine assists, two steals and one block, although he committed eight turnovers. Still, he helped the Lakers take the 108-102 win over the Clippers

With his performance, however, LeBron James is now poised to establish the 50,000-point club when the Lakers return to action on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Sure enough, hopes are high that James will be healthy and ready to suit up when the Purple and Gold host the Pelicans at Crypto.com Arena.
