After signing a one-year, $7 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs last offseason, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown missed 15 games during the 2024 season after suffering a sternoclavicular joint injury during the preseason.
Brown returned to action Weeks 16 and 17, logging nine receptions for 91 yards, and he chipped in another five catches for 50 yards in three postseason games, including a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
Because Brown’s only season with the Chiefs felt incomplete given the amount of time he missed, fans on social media had a somewhat panicked reaction when they saw the 27-year-old WR’s response when he was asked by one user on X if he was returning to Kansas City next season.
Brown tweeted a gif from a Keenan Thompson skit on “Saturday Night Live” with the message “I guess we’ll see.”

And while his reply wasn’t a no, it also wasn’t a yes either.
Several other fans flooded the comment section of Brown’s post to plead with him to come back for at least one more season. Others tried to entice him by hyping up the potential of a Chiefs passing offense with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, second-year WR Xavier Worthy plus a healthy Brown and Rashee Rice, who missed most of the year with a torn ACL.
“Don’t play with our feelings like that ,” one fan wrote.
“Please big bro I’m on both knees,” a second fan begged.
“Bro don’t do this to us. Just come back to KC ,” a third fan declared.
“Come on, Hollywood. Red with diamonds. Run it back. ,” one user commented.
Read”Plz come back ,” one fan asked.
“I’ll do anything for you to come back,” one user pleaded.
“I’m a 30 year old begging for you to come back I’ll buy a game used or issued jersey if you do,” one fan quipped.
