Tottenham are plotting a move to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window, according to their former scout.

Mick Brown, who also worked as the chief scout at Man United and Blackburn and remains very well-connected at his former clubs, exclusively told Football Insider that the 26-year-old has been a long-term target for Ange Postecoglou.

Eze has struggled with injuries for Palace so far this season, but remains a crucial part of Oliver Glasner’s plans for the future at Selhurst Park.

However, Tottenham’s priority in the transfer market remains to strengthen their options in defense and defensive midfield, and any move for forwards will follow that objective.

Although plans are in place to make a move, the deal is not urgent from Spurs’ perspective because they have James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski on their team. On February 9, Brown told Football Insider that Tottenham staff are worried about Son Heung-min and that Eze is considered as a possible replacement for him.
