The Kansas City Chiefs got crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, and head coach Andy Reid knows it.
Speaking to reporters at the NFL Combine on Feb. 25, “It was a bad day to have a bad day,” Reid said. “Like all games, you can learn something from it. It hurts for a few days and the you move on quickly.”
It’s not just the players and staff that had a rough time at the Superdome on Super Bowl Sunday, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, got a raw deal.
When Fox’s TV cameras panned to the pop star, who reportedly brought in $1 billion worth of publicity to the NFL since she started attending games in 2023, the Eagles-dominated crowd booed Swift.
While the “Karma” singer laughed it off, President Donald Trump, who also attended the game, used that moment to take a shot at Swift.

Reid seemed to address that situation when Pro Football Talk asked Reid if he had any new stories about Swift on Feb. 25. “She’s a good girl. But she handles that whole thing the right way. That’s a tough deal,” the 66-year-old coach said.
“She does a great job with handling it. Kelce does a great job of handling it. She’s part of the team. Like the other girlfriends and wives, they’re a part of it.”
Reid, who first met Swift long before she started dating Kelce, has been a cheerleader of the 14-time Grammy winner’s relationship with Kelce from the start. “I’m glad he’s found somebody he likes and she’s found somebody she likes,” he told KSHB 41 in November 2023. “That’s a good thing.”
During a SiriusXM NFL interview in February 2024, he defended Swift against detractors. “It hasn’t been a distraction, so there haven’t been any distractions,” Reid said. “She’s a good girl and she loves the game and obviously loves Kelce, so I’m happy for both of them.”
