Chiefs' Omenihu wants Kelce to return: We 'can't go out like that'-namnguyen123Kansas City Chiefs pass-rusher Charles Omenihu doesn’t think star tight end Travis Kelce wants to end his career after a crushing 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

“Big dawg, we, the whole organization, can’t go out like that,” Omenihu said was his message to Kelce during an appearance on Fox Sports’ “The Facility.”

He continued: “I think Trav has a lot left, I think Trav is an extreme competitor, I think he’s somebody that loves the game and I think in the storied career that he’s had, going out like that, in my opinion, wouldn’t be something that he would do. So, I believe that he’ll be back. I believe that he’ll give it one more go.”

Kelce, who said he had a “full heart of football left” before the Super Bowl, changed his tune after the game. The 35-year-old tight end said Wednesday he would “take some time” to mull over his future.

“I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility,” Kelce said Wednesday on his “New Heights” podcast.

Kelce, who was drafted in the third round of the 2013 draft, has spent his entire career with the Chiefs and earned 10 straight Pro Bowl nods. However, his production cratered in 2024 – Kelce’s 823 receiving yards, 8.5 yards per catch, and three touchdowns were his lowest since becoming a full-time starter in 2014.

He caught just four catches for 39 yards in the Super Bowl loss.
