Actress Kate Hudson had some serious praise for pop star Taylor Swift in a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times. According to the actress, who also just dropped an album of her own last year called Glorious, said that Swift’s “icon status is so deserved.”
The 45-year-old star of the upcoming series Running Point gushed about her love for Swift’s work, particularly the singer/songwriter’s ability to write music.
“Taylor [Swift]’s done something so amazing, which is that she’s never wavered from her conviction,” said Hudson. “No matter what everyone’s laid on her, she’s just continued to strive forward. And she really is an exceptional writer. Her icon status is so deserved.”
Hudson went on to say that her six-year-old daughter Rani Rose is a massive Swiftie.
“We went to the Eras tour,” said Hudson. “She tried so hard to stay up but halfway through she was in my arms. It was late. I saw the show a few times, including the finale in Vancouver.”
The family fandom doesn’t end there. Hudson also noted that her sister-in-law is a massive fan of Taylor Swift as well.
“She’s such a Swiftie that it’s almost uncomfortable,” Hudson continued with a laugh.
Hudson noted that she was also quite a fan of Swift’s collab with former One Direction member Zayn, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever”.
“There’s something about the production of that song,” Hudson said of the Jack Antonoff production. “The way he plays with pulling it back. I listen to music like a dancer, so it’s how my body responds to it.”
Kate Hudson Has Been Singing Taylor Swift’s Praises for a While
This isn’t the first time that Kate Hudson has had kind words for Taylor Swift. While DJing for SiriusXM last summer, she noted that 1989 was one of her favorite albums and enjoyed the song “Out Of The Woods”, in particular.
She also noted during her set that her daughter adores the song “Welcome To New York”.
Kate Hudson’s debut album Glorious was released last year. The album was a collaborative effort between Hudson and her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, as well as famed producer and former 4 Non Blondes member Linda Perry.
