Breaking: Dodgers Blockbuster Trade Proposal Brings Rafael Devers to LA as Multiple All-Stars Head Out

The offseason of the decade may not be over quite yet.

Despite the injuries, the October demons of years past, the criticism cast from the baseball world, and everything else that came their way in 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers were crowned champions once again.

Since then, the front office has seemingly forgotten that this roster has just won a championship as the team’s executives have been doing everything they can to improve the squad.

Dodgers Blockbuster Trade Proposal Brings Rafael Devers to LA as Multiple All-Stars Head Out | Dodgers Nation

Cy Young award-winners, international phenoms, postseason heroes, and core pieces from last season’s title run have all joined together to try and help the Dodgers become baseball’s first back-to-back champions in a quarter-century.

Over in the American League, Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer has been monitoring a situation brewing ever since the Boston Red Sox inked a deal with All-Star Alex Bregman.

Much like when the Dodgers signed shortstop Hyeseong Kim and later traded previous shortstop Gavin Lux, many believe that Boston bringing in a lethal third baseman spells a split with their current man on the hot corner, Rafael Devers.

Devers, a three-time All-Star and World Series champion during his eight seasons with the Red Sox, has expressed no interest in playing somewhere that isn’t third base on Opening Day.

A disgruntled star plus a relentless front office may be the perfect combination to get Devers in a new uniform.

Rymer’s proposal sees some fan favorites heading to Boston, but with the kind of lineup it would produce, the trade might end up being worth it.

In exchange for Devers, the Red Sox would acquire Max Muncy, Chris Taylor, Bobby Miller, and Alex Freeland (L.A.’s No. 4 prospect)

Boston gets quite a haul including a current third baseman in Muncy, a utility man in Taylor, a young pitcher ready to have a bounce-back year in Miller, and one of the game’s top infield prospects.

Devers’ 28 home runs, 3.7 WAR, and 83 RBIs from last season would be welcomed with open arms in Los Angeles, as much as it would initially sting to part ways with some long-tenured Dodgers.
