Jason Kelce instantly knew that Travis Kelce‘s relationship with Taylor Swift just “Hits Different.”
The retired NFL player, and older brother to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, recently opened up about the early stages of Travis’ relationship with Swift, and how he knew from the beginning that there was something special between the couple.
While recently making an appearance on The Steam Room podcast with Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson, Jason was asked about his first impressions of Travis’ romance with the music superstar, insisting, “This felt different.”
“Just the way he talks about her and talked about her from the moment he was with her, you could tell how much he really, really liked her right from the get-go,” Jason, 37, admitted during the podcast episode that dropped on Friday, Feb. 21. “And I think that the level early on of that was something that was very eye-opening to me when we first had discussions.”
Travis, 35, began dating Swift back in 2023, after publicly expressing his interest in the singer while attending her Eras Tour performance in Kansas City that summer.
The couple later connected privately, and by September 2023, Swift was in the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on the football star and confirm to the world that they were in fact a couple.
While Jason didn’t specifically remember when he heard about Travis’ first date with Swift, he still recalled being absolutely awe-struck that his brother was “hanging out” with the “Cruel Summer” songstress.
“I remember just being like, ‘Are you kidding me? You’re hanging out with Taylor Swift? That’s insane,'” Jason said, while noting that he told his brother at the time, “That’s awesome for you.”
