Ahead of the Super Bowl, rumors about Travis Kelce potentially proposing to Taylor Swift during the big game were swirling online—but with a surprising loss from the Kansas City Chiefs on game day, the tight end did not get down on one knee to pop the question. New sources, however, report that Kelce and Swift are still on track for engagement, with the footballer’s next opportunity coming sooner than fans may think.
Kelce and Swift are planning to both take some much needed time off, with the pop star unwinding from her successful Eras Tour and the athlete taking a break from a long football season. “They both want to rest and decompress. Neither of them have huge commitments coming up,” a source told Us Weekly. “Taylor wants to go to multiple places in Europe and somewhere tropical.”
As for when a possible proposal from Kelce might occur, “those close to them actually think [Travis may do it] while they’re on vacation. Taylor and Travis work so well [together]. They’re still madly in love, and their relationship just keeps getting better and better,” a second Us source told the outlet, with the first source adding, “they are both on the same page about taking the next step.”

While Swift and Kelce are head over heels for each other, there is a chance that the pop star might not want to “Jump Then Fall” into an engagement—at least, for now. “Taylor does feel like Travis is The One, but jumping in is not her style. That’s just not how she does [things],” an Us source told the outlet in December, explaining that the “Fortnight” singer wants to be sure their relationship can last long term. “Marriage is a big deal, and she wants [it to be] forever.” While Swift would “love to be engaged,” the couple isn’t “rushing it.”
