It’s not entirely clear exactly when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce began dating. However, the famed pop star began frequently attending Kansas City Chiefs games in September 2023 before becoming an official couple.
Their relationship sparked a sort of “Taylor Swift Effect” that almost immediately saw the NFL make over $366,000 from September 2023 to January 2024.
Swift’s presence drew in a large portion of her fanbase and media outlets to pay more attention to the league who weren’t beforehand.
But it didn’t stop there.
While they’ve been dating, the league has continued to profit from the extra attention. Dating from the 2024 AFC Championship to the 2025 AFC Championship, Swift and Kelce’s relationship reeled in a whopping $634,304,163, according to Weston Blasi of Market Watch.
Heading into the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, the NFL has made nearly $1 billion since Swift began dating Kelce.
Blasi claims, “In total, Swift has added nearly [$1 billion] worth of brand value -$992,361,912, to be exact – to the NFL since fall 2023.”
That number has likely gone up since Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.
The 35-year-old pop star has seemingly improved viewership amongst women for the NFL. Social media buzz for Kelce and the league have skyrocketed since Swift’s relationship with the Chiefs star went public.
The league claims that “female fans accounted for nearly half of its new followers on TikTok in 2024.” Reports even indicate that the Chiefs have also benefited from the relationship as well.
Blasi states that “women now make up 57% of the team’s total audience.” The average percentage of female fans for the other teams in the league is 46%.
