Following a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, the Kansas City Chiefs may have to wait a bit for Travis Kelce’s retirement decision.
Although the tight end has expressed his desire to return in 2025, he remains unsure of his decision.
However, he may have to act quicker than anticipated due to the rumored deadline of March 14, the Chiefs gave him. But for now, Kelce just wants to spend some time out of the spotlight to be with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Kelce and Swift have been together since Sept 2023, when she made her first appearance at Arrowhead Stadium against the Chicago Bears. Since then, she has appeared at 23 total Chiefs games, including two Super Bowls.
And Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce’s older brother, has noticed a major change from the tight end amid his relationship.

On Tuesday, Jason Kelce joined Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andrew Whitworth on “Fitz and Whit.” When asked how much his younger brother has grown up over the last three years, Kelce didn’t hesitate to respond.
“It’s been staggering, honestly,” Jason Kelce said. “One of the things I love so much about Travis is that he never grew up. He was like Peter Pan—the Lost Boys.”
Fitzpatrick proceeded with a follow-up question: “Is he growing up now?”
“For sure,” Jason Kelce added. “It’s changing, and I think that sometimes you get people in your life that maybe get that out of you, and that’s a great thing. Trav, he is growing up. He’s still, though, got that youthful enthusiasm. I think he’ll kind of just always have that, it’s part of his personality, and I think it’s one of the reasons every teammate has loved playing with him. Anyone that’s ever met Trav. You can’t help but just love the guy. He’s a free spirit in the best possible way.”
Jason Kelce enjoyed a solid 13-year career with the Eagles before retiring after the 2023 season. He helped bring the franchise its first Super Bowl win in 2017 and was named to six First Team All-Pro teams.
But in his final Super Bowl appearance in the 2022 season, he lost to his brother as the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.
Still, Philadelphia was able to get their payback this past season.
