The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes are still licking their wounds after the brutal Super Bowl loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles.
For some, the Chiefs’ era of dominance is over with the loss, but others aren’t so sure, given that Mahomes is still around.
But the Chiefs offense didn’t roll smoothly in 2024 and often looked disjointed and just managed to eek out the wins…15 of them.
However, the Super Bowl loss has the potential to set back the Chiefs in their attempts to be a force in 2025, but ESPN’s Seth Walder thinks Kansas City will be back with a vengeance next season, with Mahomes scooping the MVP award. “Mahomes,” Walder writes.
“When in doubt, give me the best quarterback on the planet. Even as his numbers have dipped over the past couple of years, he has remained elite on third down.
I suspect the Chiefs will spend the offseason figuring out how they can get more out of early downs, which would help Mahomes’ numbers rebound.”
You can never bet against Mahomes and the Chiefs, and their offseason of work will tell us their thought process in 2025.
How aggressive will the Chiefs be in free agency to consolidate the roster to fortify the offensive line and maybe get Patrick another weapon is a key area of interest.
