Jason Kelce slammed a fan who used a homophobic slur while discussing Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship.
The retired Philadelphia Eagles player, 36, was seen walking outside of Beaver Stadium in State College, Pennsylvania, before the Penn State vs. Ohio State game when the incident took place.
As Jason walked alongside a large group of football fans, he appeared calm as a person filming tried to get his attention for a fist bump. However, Jason’s mood seemingly shifted when a nearby person said a homophobic slur. “Hey, Kelce.
How does it feel your brother’s a f–t [for] dating Taylor Swift?” the man said, referencing Travis, 35. Jason reacted by turning around and grabbing the man’s phone out of his hand. He then smashed the phone to the ground and angrily walked away. Who Is Your Favorite Collaborator on Taylor Swift’s TTPD?
Shortly after the incident occurred, one person took to X to share a video of the moment. “Looked like a Penn State student was getting in Kelce’s face for no reason,” the X user captioned the clip. “Wild scene in State College.”
Many fans rushed to social media to weigh in on Jason’s reaction, with several people admitting that his reaction was appropriate. “@JasonKelce hope your day gets better if this was today man.
People do SO much for attention,” one person commented via X. Another chimed in, “As he should. What a weird question to ask someone.”
Jason has gotten to know Taylor, 34, well amid her romance with Travis. The couple began dating in the summer of 2023, and the “Love Story” singer met Jason for the first time in January when they attended a game to watch Travis play with the Kansas City Chiefs against the Buffalo Bills. Following their introduction, Jason reflected on meeting Taylor during an episode of his and Travis’ “New Heights” podcast.
He admitted to making a memorable impression when he took his shirt off and got in the crowd to cheer with fans.
“Here’s what happened: I wanted to take my shirt off at the tailgate,” Jason said at the time. “And we kinda got pushback on the tailgate front. I didn’t get to have my shirt off out there.” He added that he was drinking at the time, and he even took a large shot that was given to him during a tailgate with Bills fans. ”
No idea what that liquor was, I didn’t ask any questions,” he explained. “Somebody hands you a bowling ball with a shot, the last thing I‘m [asking is] like, ‘oh, is this Crown Royale or?’ I’m not asking any questions. I did have to clarify how to drink it. Like, do I put this up to my mouth?” “When we got to the box, I noticed, hey, I can jump out of the box and I’ll be outside,” he said. “And if I take my shirt off, then I’m outside and I’m part of the Buffalo Bills pageantry. It was something about the entire day, I got caught up in the magic of the Bills Mafia. It was magic. The energy, the shenanigans, I’m like, ;I gotta have my shirt off at some point’ and I didn’t get to do it beforehand and I’m like, ‘I can’t just take my shirt off in the box.
Who takes their shirt off in the box?
It’s heated.’
Like, you’re not really doing it.” While Jason’s antics went viral on social media, he said that his wife, Kylie Kelce, told him to behave himself as they met Taylor. “She was already telling me to be on my best behavior because we were meeting Taylor, so she’s like do not–be on your best behavior,” he said. “I was like Kylie, the first day I met you I was blacked out drunk and I fell asleep at the bar.
This is part of the charm, the Jason Kelce charm. I want to make my best first impression, this is my best chance.” Jason has continued to spend time with Taylor, and even attended her Eras tour in Miami on October 18.
