Draymond Green on new teammate Jimmy Butler: ‘he’s a franchise changer’

Warriors' Draymond Green calls new teammate Jimmy Butler a 'franchise changer' - ABC7 San Francisco

The Golden State Warriors have officially moved to 3-1 in the Jimmy Butler era. On Thursday, the Warriors held on for a much-needed win over the Houston Rockets for the final game before the All-Star break, their third win in their last four games.

Butler continued his impressive stretch of play in a Golden State uniform, recording 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 35 minutes during the Warriors’ win on Thursday night.

Following the Warriors’ 105-98 in Houston. Draymond Green spoke to members of the media, praising his new teammate. Green called Butler a “franchise changer.”

Via @BySamGordon on Twitter:

He’s a franchise changer. He’s done that everywhere he’s gone and he is helping revitalize what we got here. The belief amongst this team, now that he’s arrived, as opposed to what it was before he got here, it’s night and day. We let one get away last night, but tonight we would’ve lost. Just having a guy like that changes everything.

In four games with the Warriors, Butler is averaging 21.3 points, seven rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Butler has brought a new element to the Warriors with his ability to get to the free-throw line. In four games, Butler has made 34 shots on 40 attempts from the stripe.

Following the All-Star break, Butler and the Warriors will have 25 games to battle for a spot in the postseason. At 28-27, the Warriors currently hold the final spot in the play-in tournament at No. 10 in the Western Conference.
