Fresh details are emerging from Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s ill-fated date night in New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl.
Fans were left stunned when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his popstar girlfriend emerged less than 48 hours ahead of the game, joining Patrick and Brittany Mahomes for dinner at the popular Lilette restaurant.
Earlier on Wednesday, DailyMail.com revealed that Swift tucked into a burger and fries for her meal, while Kelce’s choice was still a mystery.
Now, though, we can exclusively reveal that Kelce opted for the $37 hangar steak, which comes with fries and marrowed bordelaise.
In an intriguing detail, the A-list couple also got a dish to share, opting for the restaurant’s specialty: the Louisiana Crab Claws, served with a passion fruit butter.
A source also told DailyMail.com that ‘they were very normal and had a complete blast’ while at the restaurant on New Orleans’ Magazine Street.
It was also revealed that all four of the celebrity diners were in a ‘tremendously good mood’, while they ‘anticipated a different outcome and result in the game.’
Nevertheless, employees at the restaurant were left shocked by the fact Travis and Patrick were out so close to the Super Bowl.
In years gone by, players involved in the showpiece have usually received strict curfews in the days leading up to the game.
A beaming Taylor, wearing a black dress and matching Eleonor boots courtesy of shoe designers Larroude, was seen making her way out of the venue hand-in-hand with Kelce, who had a grey tracksuit on.
The Chiefs legend’s longtime teammate Mahomes was also seen leaving with wife Brittany just moments after their good friends in a clip which surfaced online.
Patrick, wearing an all-black outfit with a white cap, was led down stairs and into a nearby car by security alongside Brittany, who went full Chiefs mode in a long red coat and matching boots for the double date.
A large group of fans who had gathered outside the restaurant cheered as the quartet made their way out while flanked by security.
While there was no suggestion they broke any rules by heading out on a pre-Super Bowl double date, Travis and Patrick’s appearance was still a surprise given that it is so close to the game.
Less than two days later, the Chiefs went on to suffer a chastening defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in the most-watched Super Bowl of all-time.
Mahomes threw two interceptions and was sacked six times, while Kelce was largely anonymous after taking in just four catches for 39 yards.
