The Kansas City Chiefs have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Chris Oladokun to a reserve/future contract. He joins cornerback Darius Rush as the two former Steelers among the Chiefs’ future signings as they get into their work for the offseason.
Oladokun joined the Chiefs after the Steelers released him in 2022. He never received any training camp reps with the Steelers even after being a seventh-round pick, and so they cut him loose so he could find a new home.
Since then, Oladokun has remained on the Chiefs’ practice squad, winning two Super Bowls with them. He finally made his NFL regular season debut this year, posting just five rushing yards.
A seventh-round pick out of South Dakota State, Oladokun joined the Steelers as the second quarterback, along with Kenny Pickett, selected in that class. However, due to the completion between Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph for the starting spot, Oladokun never received reps, asking why the move was made in the first place.
