BREAKING: DeAndre Hopkins calls Chiefs favoritism from refs into question after Super Bowl loss

Hopkins has a point.

Super Bowl LIX: Kansas City Chiefs v Philadelphia Eagles

After spending 11 years in the NFL, DeAndre Hopkins finally reached the Super Bowl, doing so as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, who traded for him ahead of the deadline in October. It was an exciting time for Hopkins but unfortunately, the game didn’t pan out the way he had hoped, as the Chiefs got blown out and lost 40-22.

Hopkins was fired up after the game and slammed those who made the officiating a talking point ahead of Super Bowl 59. Hopkins turned it around on everyone complaining that Kansas City gets all of the calls and asked where the complaining was now that they didn’t.

“It’s my first year being with the Chiefs, and I saw a lot of things in the media about the refs, but . . . what y’all gonna say now about the refs and us when there was a lot of touchy calls? Are y’all gonna report that? Are y’all gonna talk about the refs now?”

DeAndre Hopkins didn’t hold back on officiating controversy following Super Bowl loss

Hopkins has a point here. People spent the entirety of Super Bowl week whining about how the Chiefs get the calls but now that that’s been proven not to be true, where’s the officiating discussion now? Hopefully this whole narrative can be put to rest now that the officials have shown they’re not rigging things for Kansas City.

As for Hopkins, it was disappointing that this was the Super Bowl he was a part of. He’s been in the league since 2013 and has played for some bad teams and finally got a chance to play in the biggest game in sports but it didn’t go according to plan.

That being said, Hopkins had a brutal drop in the first half that would have extended one of the few promising Chiefs’ drives. It was just a bad night all around but hey, at least no one is blaming the refs anymore! (That’s sarcasm).
