The president took a swipe at the “Bad Blood” singer on his Truth Social platform.
You’re about to have bad blood, Mr. President.
Donald Trump took a swipe at Taylor Swift with several videos posted to his Truth Social platform during Super Bowl 2025.
The first video captured the president from behind cheering with the crowd. The second purported to show the crowd booing Swift after the Skycam cast a live feed of the singer with the rapper Ice Spice to the audience.

Interpretations of the post, which was shared without a caption, ranged from the President suggesting that the crowd cheers for him while they boo at Swift, to a suggestion that the videos featured the public figures during the same frame of time.
That would mean the video captured Trump clapping along as the crowd booed Swift.
The absence of coverage on Trump during the Swift boo makes the second conclusion impossible to reach with confidence, while the footage taken of the president does not indicate whether he is merely cheering with the crowd or is being cheered for.

Though the 78-year-old has set a hefty workload for himself, from reducing USAID personnel from over 10,000 to less than 300 employees, carrying out mass deportations, pursuing a witch hunt against transgender athletes, and following through on the charge that CBS should lose its broadcast license over the airing of a 2024 Kamala Harris interview that was edited — as generally all interviews are — he was able to take time to maintain his beef with the pop star while watching the game.
Swift had long maintained an apolitical position in public life, but began to vocalize particular criticisms of Trump during his first term from 2016 to 2020.
She wrote a letter in 2019 to “personally reject the President’s stance” on the Equality Act, an expansion of the Civil Rights Act that seeks to prohibit bias and discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
She also condemned Trump for “threatening violence” in the wake of the George Floyd protests of 2020, and criticized his “calculated dismantling” of the Postal Service the same year.

Trump has responded in kind by taking any opportunity he can to slam Swift, especially after she endorsed his opponent, Kamala Harris, in the recent presidential debate.
Last August, Trump posted AI-generated images falsely suggesting she had endorsed him, then denied responsibility for sharing said images. In September, he issued the vague threat that Swift will “probably pay a price” for endorsing Harris.
Clarifying that he’s “not a Taylor Swift fan” because “it was just a question of time” before she endorsed the Democratic party’s candidate, Trump explained on Fox News, “You couldn’t possibly endorse [Joe] Biden, you look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him, but she’s a very liberal person, she seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
