Taylor Swift’s decision to wear white for the Super Bowl 2025 was for one very good reason.

The music megastar headed to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates as they went against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Chiefs’ had been hoping to bag their third consecutive victory in the event.

In true Taylor fashion, all eyes were on the 35-year-old as she headed to her VIP suite with friend and fellow musician, Ice Spice to watch the game and Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show.

But many were quick to notice that the Bad Blood songstress only chose to wear white as rumours about hers and Travis’ relationship intensified.

She rocked a white blazer which she paired with a white vest top, blue shorts and white knee-high boots, completing her look with a red handbag.

Normally, Taylor wears red when she’s stepping out to support Travis during his matches. But it appears that there was a clear reason behind her decision.

In the past, teams who have worn white shirts during the Super Bowl have usually had a better chance of being crowned the champions, according to Sports Illustrated.

The publication claims that teams who have worn white have won on 37 occasions, while losing just 21 games.

Meanwhile, teams who choose to wear coloured jersey’s have won a mere 21 times and lost a staggering 37 games. This year, Travis and his teammates wore white again, two years after their first Super Bowl win in 2023, during which they also wore white jerseys.

Sadly, luck was not on Travis and Taylor’s side for this years grand event.

The Philadelphia Eagles ended the Cheifs’ bid to win an unprecedented three straight Super Bowls as they ran out 40-22 winners in New Orleans.

The Eagles defence dominated and pressured Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes throughout the evening, sacking him a career-high six times and intercepting him twice.

Opposite number Jalen Hurts was named the most valuable player after he threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, as well as scoring one himself, as the Eagles avenged their defeat to the Chiefs two years ago.

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley broke the NFL season rushing record, including the post-season, beating the record of the Denver Broncos Terrell Davis.

No team had previously won back-to-back titles and returned to the Super Bowl, but the Chiefs rarely looked like completing the treble and a fourth win in six years.

The Eagles were denied a promising field position on the opening possession when AJ Brown was adjudged to have fouled cornerback Trent McDuffie after catching a 30-yard pass from Hurts on fourth down.

But Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said his team “didn’t care” about what people thought of them as they clinched victory in Super Bowl LIX.

“We didn’t really ever care what anyone thought about how we won… all we wanted to do was win,” a tearful Sirianni told Fox Sports. “These guys did not want to let each other down.”

The success avenged a narrow defeat to the Chiefs two years ago and Sirianni put the success down to a team effort.

“That’s a great football team (the Chiefs),” he said. “We had to come out and play our best. What a lesson to the whole world about teamwork. This is the ultimate team game. You can’t be great without the greatness of others and this was a great performance by everybody. It took everybody. I’ll be shedding a couple of happy tears tonight. A lot of work went into this.”
