Chris Jones’ Sideline Reaction to Chiefs WR’s Huge Drop Turns Heads

The Kansas City Chiefs look to make NFL history by winning a Super Bowl three-peat when they face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington said of the team’s preparation before kickoff, “Andy Reid, last night, assembled his team at 9 p.m. local time and he told his team to look right, and look left, and play for the person next to them.

“He wants this team to be insulated. To ignore the noise. Quite honestly, to ignore the potential history of a three-peat. Never in his speech did the idea of a three-peat come up.”

However, the Chiefs couldn’t even score three point in the first half. The defense didn’t help much either, becoming the second team in Super Bowl history to give up more points (24) than yards gained (23) in first half. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed just 6-of-14 passes for 33 yards and two interceptions.

Mahomes tried to get something going before the first half concluded, throwing to a wide open DeAndre Hopkins. However, the veteran couldn’t hold on.

Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones couldn’t hide his distraught emotions, falling to the ground with disappointment. One fan

Of course, the Chiefs have more than enough time to turn things around in the second half. Jones, who always catches attention for crying during the national anthem, explained that the emotions come from mentally preparing for battle.

“Quick story. I was watching the movie ‘300.’ One of my favorite movies, you know? Right before they go into battle, you have some like, crying, because they’re so mad. They’re going to war,” Jones said, per the AP.

“In a sense of playing football, I actually go into that mindframe, like, I might not make it home tonight — knowing I’m going to make it home, but knowing I’m going to war. It’s going to get bloody. It’s going to get physical. I might not make it out. I might make it out.”
