Not only will some of the NFL’s leading stars be battling it out on the biggest stage possible, but this weekend’s Super Bowl also pits two A-list BFFs against one another in the stands.

In the red corner will of course be Taylor Swift, the much-loved queen of Chiefs Kingdom, as her boyfriend Travis Kelce and Kansas City bid to become the first team in history to win football’s top prize three years in a row.

Yet when she takes her seat at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, one of Swift’s dearest friends will be praying for the Chiefs’ downfall nearby.

American model Gigi Hadid, who has been close pals with Taylor for well over a decade, is also expected to be at Super Bowl LIX on Sunday with her man Bradley Cooper, albeit to support his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

Hadid has aligned herself with the Eagles amid her relationship with Cooper; even joining him at Lincoln Financial Field for their recent playoff win over the Los Angeles Rams, where she was seen celebrating wildly with the actor during a 28-22 victory for his home team.

And if she heads to the Big Easy for this weekend’s NFL showpiece, the 29-year-old will be set for an awkward showdown with Swift as they both root for different teams.

Like Cooper, the pop megastar and her family are from Philly, meaning she has previously confessed her love for the team both in the media and through her music.

One of the lyrics in her 2020 song ‘Gold rush’ says: ‘I see me padding ’cross your wooden floors with my Eagles T-shirt hanging from the door.’

After initial confusion about whether she was referencing the famous rock band, Swift later cleared it up by explaining: ‘I love the band the Eagles, but guys, like, come on… I’m from Philly. Of course it’s the team.’

Swift was even spotted wearing Eagles gear as recently as two weeks before she hit it off with Kelce, which could provide Hadid with an open-goal to tease her good friend about secretly hoping for a Philly win in New Orleans.

Despite her home-city roots, Taylor has frequently attended Chiefs games in the past 18 months amid her whirlwind romance with Travis.

She first headed to Arrowhead Stadium in September 2023 as Kansas City claimed victory over the Chicago Bears, before following her man at home and on the road as they went all the way to a second straight Super Bowl.

This season the songstress has only watched the Chiefs at Arrowhead, meaning Sunday’s game will be her first road trip of the season.

And on the opening night of Super Bowl week, Kelce cleared up who his girlfriend will be cheering on at Caesars Superdome.

‘She’ll be all for the Chiefs this time around,’ the tight end assured members of the media.

Taylor cheering on the Chiefs means it will be impossible for her and Gigi to both go home happy on Sunday night.

Either Travis, who fans believe could retire after his third straight Super Bowl appearance, or Eagles superfan Cooper will be left devastated by the result, which could make any post-game celebrations a little bittersweet for the winning party.

Yet regardless of the outcome, it is unlikely to cause a major rift between the two celebrity couples, who enjoyed a double date at one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in Paris last year.

Kelce, who watched the show alongside Cooper and Hadid, said on his New Heights podcast afterwards: ‘I got to see Gigi and Bradley. Bradley Cooper, man. We were all in the suite having a blast.’

‘They’re amazing,’ he added.

Travis and the Chiefs have broken Bradley’s heart in the past, with Kansas City coming out on top when they previously met Philadelphia in the 2023 Super Bowl.

And given it was a few months before her romance with the Chiefs legend began, Philly-native Taylor would have been equally devastated that night in Arizona.

This time around, however, she’ll be the enemy of her home-city and longtime bestie Gigi.
