The 2025 Premier League January transfer window has officially closed tonight, with a number of last-minute deals completed.
Last summer, Premier League clubs spent around £1.8 billion, but the winter window was still essential for strengthening squads.
Manchester City
Manchester City made significant moves this month, with their spending reaching over £175 million. The club signed four new players, but also bid farewell to Kyle Walker, a long-serving player.
Aston Villa
Aston Villa, under Unai Emery, were among the more active teams this window, securing Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen and loan signings Marcus Rashford from Manchester United and Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain. They also lost Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce and Jhon Duran to Saudi Arabia.
Bournemouth
Bournemouth’s manager, Andoni Iraola, has kept his squad largely intact, making only a few additions, including left-back Julio Soler.
Brentford
Brentford made a quiet start to the window, with Michael Kayode being their only incoming player. They rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for Yoane Wissa.
Brighton
Brighton were active early in January, signing Diego Gomez from Inter Miami and Eiran Cashin from Derby. They also loaned out several players.
Chelsea
Chelsea’s window saw the return of Trevoh Chalobah to Stamford Bridge, but no major signings were made. Several players, including Cesare Casadei and Axel Disasi, left the club on loan or permanently.
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace broke Millwall’s transfer record with the signing of attacking talent Romain Esse, while Ben Chilwell joined on loan from Chelsea.
Everton
Everton’s main signing was reappointing David Moyes as manager. Late in the window, they secured former Southampton midfielder Carlos Alcaraz on loan with an option to buy.
Fulham
It’s been a quiet window for Fulham, with no new signings, although there were loan recalls for Matt Dibley-Dias and Devan Tanton.
Ipswich Town
Ipswich have strengthened their squad with several new signings, including Ben Godfrey and Jaden Philogene, as they push to stay in the Premier League.
Leicester City
Leicester made a minor signing in Woyo Coulibaly from Palma but still face a tough battle against relegation.
Liverpool
Liverpool, under Arne Slot, did not bring in any new players this month, and no further moves are expected.
Manchester City

Nottingham Forest
Forest made no signings, but they managed to keep their squad intact as they aim for a place in the Champions League.
Southampton
Southampton made several key additions, including Welington and Albert Gronbaek, as they battle to avoid relegation.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham’s window saw the signing of Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich and Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague, among other moves.
West Ham United
West Ham made a key signing with the loan arrival of striker Evan Ferguson from Brighton. They also tried but failed to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa.
Wolves
Wolves made several signings, including Emmanuel Agbadou and Nasser Djiga, as new manager Vitor Pereira works to strengthen his squad.
