The Super Bowl is fast approaching and fans of football and pop music have been wondering if there could be a very special proposal on the field.
Returning champions, Kansas City Chiefs, will go up against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday (9 February) at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Taylor Swift will likely attend once again this year to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Chiefs. Fans were gutted when Kelce didn’t show up to the Grammys, where Swift was seen partying it up with all of her celeb pals, while also taking to the stage to present Beyoncé with her Best Country Album gong.
But Kelce had previously warned Swifties that he’d be absent from the star-studded do due to his busy American football schedule leading up to the big game on Sunday.
If the Chiefs are victorious, they’ll become the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row, having beaten the San Francisco 49er last year, and the Eagles back in 2023.
People are now wondering if Kelce might mark what would be a historic win by proposing to Swift.
When asked if there might be an engagement ring waiting for the Blank Space singer, Kelce had a very clear response.
During the Super Bowl Opening Night press conference this week, a reporter asked Kelce if he plans to pop the question: “A Super Bowl ring? Next question,” he replied.
Another reporter tried to ask a follow-up question, to which the NFL star said: “Man, back-to-back? You guys are crazy.”
Only time will tell if he’s bluffing.
Kelce previously hit back at rumours suggesting the two are in a PR relationship after an alleged contract ‘leaked’ online.
The ‘contract’ first appeared on Reddit, with users immediately questioning the authenticity.
Photographs of the contract suggest that the relationship between NFL star Kelce and ‘Bad Blood’ singer Swift is a publicity stunt, and that the date of their staged breakup was due to happen soon – on 28 September, to be precise.
The Daily Mail were informed by Full Scope: “We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.”
Kelce and Swift were first linked in July 2023 when he was spotted attending the global superstar’s Eras Tour.
By the time July raced around, Kelce admitted he took it ‘personally’ that he didn’t get to meet Swift, which led to many saying he was ‘shooting his shot.’
The world rejoiced when Swift attended one of Kelce’s games in September – with the duo finally going public with their romance in October, after being photographed holding hands.
