Eight seasons into his NFL career, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already put himself in the same conversation as NFL legend Tom Brady, at least according to some fans.
But Mahomes will look to do what Brady never could: a three-peat.
Mahomes and the Chiefs have returned to the big game for the fifth time in the past six seasons, eying a fourth ring. They will get a rematch of the championship game two seasons ago, facing Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. And the former New England Patriots quarterback will be in attendance for the game as part of the Fox Sports broadcast.
Mahomes and the rest of the team made their way to New Orleans, Louisiana, over the weekend, with the game less than a week away. On Monday night, both teams partook in the Super Bowl opening night event at Caesars Superdome.
The Eagles were the first team to partake in solo interviews before both team’s captains took center stage. Then, it was the Chiefs’ turn for solo interviews.
During Mahomes’ interview, Brady came up, and he had a blunt message about the seven-time Super Bowl champion calling the Super Bowl.
“I’m super excited for [Brady] to have the opportunity to call the Super Bowl because I know how smart he is and how great he is at talking football,” Mahomes said. “I’ve learned firsthand from the advice he’s given me. I think it will be an amazing watch for the fans. I’m excited to be able to play in one of his football games because we don’t play in a lot of Fox football games when he’s on the call.”

Mahomes was also asked about the arguments of him being the Greatest of all Time (GOAT).
“I’m just trying to be the greatest Patrick Mahomes I can be,” Mahomes added.
Mahomes has built a stellar resume for himself, winning three Super Bowls, two NFL MVPs and three Super Bowl MVPs. However, he has a long way to go to catch Brady’s seven Super Bowls, three MVPs, and five Super Bowl MVPs.
Mahomes has been so unstoppable in the postseason that only two quarterbacks have been able to beat him. Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals did it in the 2021 season, while Brady did it twice, including once with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl.
