At the end of the broadcast, it was announced that Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter took home the prize for Album of the Year, her first in the category. Swift subsequently toasted the honor in the crowd with Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z.

Swift landed six Grammy nominations this year: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for The Tortured Poets Department, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Music Video for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her “Us.” collaboration with Gracie Abrams.

For Record of the Year, Swift’s “Fortnight” went up against The Beatles’ “Now and Then,” Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Carpenter’s “Espresso,” Charli’s “360,” Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!
