MLB: Yankees Outshine Dodgers in 2024 Earnings Without Shohei Ohtani

Current Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner has no reason to grumble about the profits his team brings in year after year in Major League Baseball (MLB). In fact, New York was the top money-making club in 2024, surpassing none other than the Dodgers.

Without having Shohei Ohtani on their roster, the Yankees generated a whopping $679 million in profits during the 2024 season. This figure put them over a hundred million ahead of the Dodgers, who came in second.

Sure, the Dodgers had Ohtani, currently the most popular player in the MLB, but the Yankees boasted equally high-profile stars like captain Aaron Judge and Dominican sensation Juan Soto.

With Juan Soto no longer on the Yankees roster this year after signing a record-breaking contract with the Mets, will they still out-earn the Dodgers?

A significant chunk of the Dodgers‘ massive earnings came from the Japanese market, thanks to Shohei Ohtani being a huge idol in that Asian country.
