Isiah Pacheco has made history at the NFL level and continues to find success on a dynastic team.
Last year, Pacheco became the first running back to win two Super Bowl titles during his first years in the league. Now, he will look to make it three in a row — something that has never been done by any team in the history of the NFL.
Pacheco spent three years as the starting back for Rutgers and fans knew that he would make an impact at the next level. Many teams passed on Pacheco and now the Chiefs are enjoying the benefits of having one of the biggest steals from the 2022 NFL Draft in the seventh round.
During his rookie year, Pacheco finished with 830 rushing yards and five touchdowns during his first year. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry and had 13 catches. It was clear that he was going to get an even bigger role as a sophomore and that is exactly what happened.
Pacheco carried the ball 205 times during the regular season for 935 yards and seven touchdowns. He added 49 catches for 244 yards and two scores. In the postseason, Pacheco averaged just under 80 yards on the ground per game on the ground and scored three touchdowns.
This season, suffered a broken fibula in Week 2 but returned to action late in the season. He finished with 310 yards and two touchdowns this season. Kareem Hunt has taken over the majority of the work for the Kansas City Chiefs during the playoff run but Pacheco has still been given touches, including a key first-down reception on the final possession of the AFC Championship Game.
The Chiefs are looking to make NFL history and be the first team to three-peat as Super Bowl champions. So far, Pacheco knows nothing but winning in the NFL and will play in his third consecutive Super Bowl in three years with the team.
