The Boston Celtics are hitting the road for a Friday night showdown in New Orleans, looking to pick up another win against the Pelicans. This game kicks off a three-game trip, with matchups against the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers up next.
Meanwhile, on Thursday night, the NBA announced the reserves for next month’s All-Star Game, and Celtics’ guard Jaylen Brown earned a well-deserved spot in the Eastern Conference.
Brown is joined by other reserves, including Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard, Cleveland’s Darius Garland, Detroit’s Cade Cunningham, Miami’s Tyler Herro, Cleveland’s Evan Mobley, and Indiana’s Pascal Siakam.
Shortly after the news, the Celtics reacted on social media.
“Officially a four-time All-Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️,” they wrote.
Brown is in his ninth season after being drafted third overall by Boston in 2016. The reigning NBA Finals MVP has previously made All-Star appearances in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
So far this season, Brown is averaging 23.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.
The All-Star Game is scheduled for Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET in San Francisco, California. For the first time, it will feature four teams in a mini-tournament, including two semifinal games and a championship.
The TNT “Inside the NBA” crew—Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith—will draft the All-Stars into three teams.
The fourth team will be selected from the championship game of the Rising Stars mini-tournament. WNBA legend Candace Parker will serve as the general manager, and the team will include first- and second-year NBA players, along with NBA G League talent.
