BREAKING NEWS: “Michael Oliver appointed as referee for Manchester City vs Arsenal Premier League clash!” – VAR and fourth official also confirmed for the heavyweight showdown.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his frustration with referee Michael Oliver’s controversial decision to send off young defender Myles Lewis-Skelly during their match against Wolves.

The incident occurred when the teenage defender stopped a Wolves counterattack just outside their penalty area, which led to Oliver showing him a straight red card. The decision left Arsenal with ten men for most of the second half. Despite the setback, the Gunners managed to secure a hard-fought victory at Molineux, thanks to Riccardo Calafiori’s decisive goal.

After the match, Arteta did not hold back his feelings, describing his reaction as “absolutely fuming.” He strongly criticized the decision, emphasizing that it was so clearly wrong that Arsenal might not even need to appeal it.

Speaking to the media, Arteta remarked, “It is that clear that I leave it to you guys. I am absolutely fuming, but I leave it with you. Because it is that obvious. I don’t think my words are going to help.”

When asked whether the club would launch an appeal, Arteta indicated that it was a decision for Arsenal to make. However, he seemed confident that the situation was so blatant that an appeal might not be necessary. “That’s for the club to decide what the best decision is. I think it’s that obvious, maybe we don’t even need to,” he added.

Despite the contentious decision, Arteta lauded his players for their resilience and determination in overcoming the disadvantage.

He praised their mentality and adaptability under challenging circumstances, which ultimately led to a crucial win. “It’s incredible what the boys did again,” Arteta said. “In the context that we were thrown in again, it was about character, personality of the team, courage, and intelligence to play the game we wanted to play. It was exceptional.”

Arsenal’s performance under pressure highlighted their ability to remain focused and deliver results even when faced with adversity. The victory was significant, as it demonstrated their fighting spirit and tactical discipline despite being reduced to ten men.

While the red card decision sparked debate, the team’s efforts ensured they left Molineux with all three points, keeping their momentum in the Premier League alive. Arteta’s post-match comments reflected both his anger over the decision and his pride in his squad’s response to the situation.
