Jimmy Butler Says He ‘Loves’ The City Of Miami Amid Trade Request Drama With Heat

Jimmy Butler is speaking out for the first time since being suspended by the Miami Heat. Earlier this week, the team suspended Butler for two games after he missed a team flight weeks after he requested a trade.

“We have suspended Jimmy Butler for two games for continued pattern of disregard of team rules, insubordinate conduct and conduct detrimental to the team, including missing today’s team flight to Milwaukee.” said the Miami Heat via statement.

On Saturday, Butler attended the Reserve Cup Miami to play a charity match that raised $600,000 for local Miami charities. Before the match, Butler addressed the crowd and showed his love for the city despite the ongoing drama with the team.

“Padel…. is big for the city of Miami, a city that I care so dearly and so much about. And it also gives me another thing to talk like I’m great and then never showcase my talents.. So, I’m grateful,” Butler said. “No breaking news here.” After the match, Jimmy said it means the absolute most (to give back) and that “I love this city with everything I have.”
