totaled nine games this season. According to a new report, the six-time All-Star has forfeited approximately $3.1 million from his contract due to missed games stemming from disciplinary actions. Jimmy Butler had to let go a whopping $3.1 million after his reported 9-game suspension

Miami Heat has reportedly added two-game suspension for Jimmy Butler following another disciplinary issue. Butler’s insistence to leave the Miami Heat is reportedly coming at a steep financial cost. As per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Butler’s latest two-game suspension brings his total missed games to nine this season. It will cost him $3.1 million in lost salary. Chiang further shared that, Butler “could still get some (or even most) of that back depending on the result of grievances filed through the NBPA.”

Despite losing $3.1 million in salary, Jimmy Butler is far from facing financial hardship. Playing on a $48.7 million contract this season, the Heat star already boasts career earnings of $312 million. Now, it appears that his bold approach may ultimately help him achieve his goal of forcing a trade, even if it comes at a hefty price.

is nearing and Butler’s recent actions indicate that he is all set to move out of the franchise. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Butler missed the team flight ahead of their matchups with the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets. Although he planned to join the team later, the Heat sent him home. Charania also shared the growing tension in the team surrounding the 35-year-old. “There’s an uneasy feeling in the air in Miami right now around Jimmy Butler and just an ugly way that this is really shaping up after five and a half seasons in Miami,” Charania said.
