LA is dealing with a ton of injuries.
The Boston Celtics kicked off their West Coast road trip with a massive win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday night. Now, they’re heading south for a date with the LA Clippers at the brand-new Intuit Dome. They’ll be hoping to win their first back-to-back games since January 2 and 3.
Meanwhile, the Clippers will be looking to earn a win in hopes of maintaining their positioning in the tightly-packed Western Conference standings. Both sides are headed for a likely playoff birth, but both have been struggling a bit lately. The Celtics are 6-4 in their last 10, and the Clippers are 5-5.
Here is the Celtics injury report and Clippers injury report for Wednesday, January 22.
Celtics injury report vs. Clippers on Wednesday, January 122
- Jrue Holiday QUESTIONABLE (right shoulder impingement)
- Al Horford QUESTIONABLE (left big toe sprain)
Clippers injury report vs. Celtics on Wednesday, January 22
- Kawhi Leonard OUT (right knee injury management)
- PJ Tucker OUT (not with team)
- Ivica Zubac OUT (left eye corneal abrasion)
- James Harden QUESTIONABLE (right groin soreness)
- Norman Powell (back soreness)
- Kris Dunn (left knee soreness)
- Nicolas Batum (right finger soreness)
Only two Celtics players are on the injury report heading into Wednesday night. Jrue Holiday is the first, as the veteran guard is dealing with the same right shoulder impingement that has lingered throughout the year.
Al Horford is also questionable due to a left big toe sprain. For a while now, that has simply been the Celtics’ way of holding Horford out for one night of a back-to-back. Boston plays the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, so Horford will likely sit on Wednesday against the Clippers, and Kristaps Porzingis will probably be out against the Lakers on Thursday.
As for the Clippers, they have an extremely length injury report.
Kawhi Leonard is out for right knee injury management, PJ Tucker is not with the team, and Ivica Zubac is also out, as he’s dealing with a left eye corneal abrasion.
Numerous Clippers players are questionable to play on Wednesday. James Harden and Norman Powell are the most significant. Harden is dealing with right groin soreness, and Powell has back soreness.
Kris Dunn is questionable with left knee soreness, and Nicolas Batum is questionable with right finger soreness.
