Things do not get any easier for Josh Allen as the Buffalo Bills head to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Minutes after the Bills topped the Baltimore Ravens to advance in the NFL playoffs, Allen revealed his first reaction to facing Mahomes again with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
Allen is 4-1 against the Chiefs during the regular season over his NFL career. The Bills quarterback has not had the same success against Kansas City in the postseason.
Allen has yet to defeat Mahomes in the NFL playoffs, going 0-3 in the previous matchups.
The Bills quarterback was asked by CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson why he believed this AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs will be different.
Allen called the Chiefs “perennial” while adding that Kansas City is “what you want to be in the NFL.”
“I can’t tell you that [if the outcome will be different],” Allen said candidly during the postgame interview on Sunday. “I just know we’re going to work hard. We’re going to have a heck of a week. We’re going to enjoy this one tonight. Turn our attention to the Chiefs tomorrow.
“We know what they are. They’re the perennial of what you want to be in the NFL. You gotta beat them to get past them. So, we’re going to enjoy this one tonight.”
