Projection systems, in professional sports, are not only a form of entertainment: they help us understand certain realities and give us an idea of what to expect from specific players and teams.

New York Yankees star and reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge is projected, according to OOPSY, to finish the upcoming campaign with some gaudy numbers.

Of course, we don’t need projections to tell us that Judge is going to be a star once again, but enjoying these is part of the fun.

“Aaron Judge OOPSY projections via @RosenJordanBlum: 59 HR, 138 RBI, 111 Runs, 9 SB, .299/.418/.660, 199 wRC+,” Brendan Tuma of Underdog MLB and Baseball America posted on X.

According to his creator Jordan Rosenblum, “OOPSY aims to summarize all of the information you see on a player page — a whole slew of component statistics from different years, leagues, levels, and teams, compiled at different ages — in an attempt to make it easier to evaluate players.”

Nobody would be surprised if Judge put up those numbers in 2025.

However, they are notable because projection systems are usually more conservative.

The thing is, however, that Judge is enjoying a unique prime and doing things that no other right-handed hitters have ever done.

He just posted the best and most productive season by a righty hitter with a 218 wRC+, a .322 batting average, 58 home runs and 144 RBI.

Judge also hit 62 homers in 2022, and was on a similar pace in 2023 before hurting his foot and missing a handful of games.

The Yankees know that Judge is a star in his prime, so OOPSY might be right: he might have another 50-homer season in him.
