Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to face off against the Houston Texans in an AFC showdown for the right to go to the conference title game.
For the Chiefs, a chance to make history is on the line as they look to become the first NFL franchise to win three straight Super Bowl titles. Ahead of the contest on Saturday afternoon, the star quarterback know he’ll have to lean on star tight end Travis Kelce – just like he has in the two previous Super Bowl runs.
“I think just the greats, they step up in the playoffs, it’s just higher intensity and on the best players, and the best leaders step up and make the best plays, and he’s done that,” Mahomes told reporters.
“I expect the same from him going into this playoffs, and I think his mentality that he steps into the football field with at practice and on game day resonates with the entire team and gets everybody to play their best football, and that’s what it takes in order to win championships.”
As the game draws near, Mahomes made it clear he’s ready to roll. On Friday night he posted a new hype video to social media in order to get fans fired up for Saturday afternoon’s showdown.
The only caption necessary for Mahomes was a clock, letting everyone know it’s time to go.
