UPDATE: Andy Reid Announces Big Tuesday Injury News Ahead of Divisional Round Texans Matchup

Houston Texans v Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs will have several injured players back at practice on Tuesday as they prepare for this weekend’s matchup against the Texans.

The No. 1 seed Kansas City Chiefs will begin their Super Bowl title defense on Saturday against the Houston Texans in the divisional round. It’s the second time these two teams have played each other in the last few weeks.

In Week 16, the Chiefs defeated the Texans at Arrowhead, 27-19. Kansas City fans hope for a similar result this weekend as they look to punch their ticket to the AFC title game. On Tuesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid met with the media and provided a huge injury update on several players.

According to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride, Reid said everybody will practice on Tuesday, including safety Chamarri Conner, defensive tackle Chris Jones, running back Isiah Pacheco, right tackle Jawaan Taylor, and cornerback Jaylen Watson.

If you are a Chiefs fan, you are excited to hear that Conner and Watson will practice, which is a huge boost to the secondary.

The 24-year-old Conner suffered a shoulder injury in the Chiefs’ regular season finale against the Denver Broncos. The former fourth-round pick practiced towards the end of last week, which was a positive sign heading into this week’s game against the Texans.

Before sustaining a shoulder injury, the second-year defensive back suffered a concussion in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns, forcing him to miss the next two games.

As for Watson, he suffered a broken ankle in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers, which forced him to go on injured reserve. However, the Chiefs designated the 26-year-old defensive back to return from the Reserve/Injured list earlier this month.

Finally, the Chiefs getting back Jones and Pacheco is huge if they want to get back to and win the Super Bowl. Jones missed the Chiefs’ last two regular season games after suffering a calf injury in Week 16 against the Texans.

Meanwhile, Pacheco sustained a rib injury in the Chiefs’ Christmas Day win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and did not play in the finale, along with the rest of the starters. With all these players returning to practice, the Chiefs are 8.5-point favorites over Houston on FanDuel Sportsbook.
