As reported by Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers released their injury report ahead of Wednesday’s matchup against the Miami Heat, with Dorian Finney-Smith (personal) listed as doubtful to play.
This would mark Finney-Smith’s first absence since joining the Lakers via trade a couple of weeks ago.

It’s been a crazy two weeks since I’ve been in L.A., I ain’t gonna lie to you,” Finney-Smith said. “Through everything that’s going on, being in a hotel so seeing all these families who are also there.
It’s been eye-opening. Definitely eye-opening because I’m not from no fires or anything like that so just them telling me about what’s going on and it happens all the time but not like this.
So it was tough. A bunch of families in there.” If Finney-Smith can’t suit up against the Heat, expect increased minutes for Cam Reddish and Dalton Knecht off the bench.
Both players have struggled in limited action recently but will need to step up against a Heat team that dominated the Lakers in their previous meeting in Miami.
The Lakers’ injury report also lists Bronny James (illness) as questionable, while LeBron James (left foot injury management) and Anthony Davis (left plantar fasciitis) are probable. Jarred Vanderbilt (right foot surgery recovery), Christian Wood (left knee surgery recovery) and Jalen Hood-Schifino (left hamstring strain) remain sidelined.
Despite his brief tenure with the team, Finney-Smith has already emerged as a vocal leader.
Following Monday’s loss to the Spurs, he addressed the team’s defensive struggles, placing responsibility squarely on the players. ”
We didn’t execute the game plan like we were supposed to.But the coaches, they gave us the right answers to the test. We just ain’t use the study guide,” Finney-Smith explained.
Meanwhile, the Heat will be without Jimmy Butler, who serves the final game of his seven-game suspension.
Bam Adebayo (lower back contusion) is questionable, Kel’el Ware (right foot soreness) is probable, while Josh Richardson and Dru Smith are out.
