Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is not hiding his feelings heading into his team’s first game of the NFL playoffs. In fact, he is singing them.
Kelce belted out a famous Taylor Swift tune on national television on Monday, honoring his girlfriend before confirming her plans to attend the upcoming playoff game.
Kansas City’s divisional matchup against the Houston Texans will take place at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday. If Swift does in fact attend, she and the rest of Chiefs Kingdom will see a spry Kelce coming off a bye week in the opening round.
“I’m fired up man,” Kelce said on “The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN on Monday. “I’m feeling 22 all over again.”
Immediately, noted Swiftie McAfee caught the reference from Swift’s “Red” album. Moments later, he and Kelce burst into song together.
“I don’t know about you,” McAfee crooned before the Chiefs tight end jumped in to make it a duet, “but I’m feeling twenty-two.” Travis Kelce referencing 22 by Taylor Swift pic.twitter.com/98OXNjiLpB — travis kelce gifs (@traviskelcegifs) January 13, 2025
The reference comes from Swift’s 2012 hit, “22,” a song written when Swift celebrated her 22nd birthday.
It is about the freedom of youth, which 35-year-old Kelce hopes to capture after starting 16 regular season games in his 12th NFL season.
Swift has come a long way since her “Red” era.
Her latest birthday celebration was a jaw-dropping Eras Tour surprise party coordinated by Kelce in December.
The Chiefs are 7-0 this season with Swift in attendance.
They will hope to see the trend continue on Saturday in front of the music star as gunslinger Patrick Mahomes and a rejuvenated Kelce seek to lead Kansas City to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.
