Following a 15-2 regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs had five players selected to go to Orlando for the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games.

As the No. 1 seed in the AFC rested during the opening round of the NFL playoffs, it appeared for a brief moment as though two of its Pro-Bowlers might not make it to the Chiefs’ first playoff game – let alone the trip to Orlando.

That treacherous moment took the form of a viral video, originally captured by Ana Demmer, the girlfriend of Kansas City center Creed Humphrey.

It was later spread by Yahoo Sports and a local radio host on social media, where members of Chiefs Kingdom grew concerned over what they saw.

Humphrey and fellow offensive line Pro Bowl selection Trey Smith happened to be in the right place at the right time to help get a Kansas City local out of a tough situation.

They put their bodies on the line to help move a car that had gotten stuck on the icy roads outside their church.

They were only at church because the top-seeded Chiefs got a bye week in the playoffs that meant they did not have to play on Sunday.

That didn’t stop fans from worrying about the devastating possibility of quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ key protectors getting hurt while performing the good deed. YA’LL DONT’T NEED TO BE PUSHING A CAR! WE GOTTA GAME NEXT WEEK!!! But nice guys i guess.

“While this is light work for them. We can’t have this risk,” wrote a user. Get them back in their chambers. You should not have let them. https://t.co/rGROFAKs8e — DWMAC (@DWMAC19640607) January 12, 2025 “I would’ve been DISGUSTED if they got hurt helping,” said another concerned fan. “Ice and force don’t mix well.” “Um, you get those 2 injured pushing your dumb butt, we’ll hunt you down,” threatened a more unsavory post.

The concern was understandable given the Chiefs’ injury problems on offense this season, particularly along the offensive line. Humphrey and Smith have been the two most consistent starters on a unit that has been a big problem for Mahomes.

He was sacked a career-high 36 times in the regular season. Thankfully, Humphrey and Smith appeared to be fine.

The Pro-Bowlers will be tasked with clearing the road for Kansas City against the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round next weekend, and they may have some extra good karma behind them as well.
