Hosting the Golden Globe Awards with Taylor Swift in the audience would’ve been a dream for mega-Swiftie Nikki Glaser.
After serving as host for the 2025 Golden Globes on Jan. 5, the 40-year-old comedian — who previously told PEOPLE she spent “close to $100,000” attending 22 Eras Tour shows — responded to a social media comment predicting she was “pissed” Swift wasn’t in the audience at the ceremony.
“Do u think Nikki Glaser is pissed that she hosted this year instead of last year when Taylor Swift was in attendance,” wrote a fan in an X post later shared to Instagram by Elite Daily.
Glaser replied in a comment on Jan. 7, writing, “Oh you know I was!”

Swift has previously received five nominations at the Golden Globes. She most recently attended in 2024 to support her Eras Tour film, which earned a nod for cinematic and box office achievement.
Before then, the “Karma” singer earned best original song – motion picture nominations for “Safe & Sound” from The Hunger Games, “Sweeter Than Fiction” from One Chance, “Beautiful Ghosts” from Cats and “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing.
In December, Glaser opened up to PEOPLE about spending nearly six figures on the Eras Tour. “I want to be clear that we’re including travel expenses, hotels, and me also flying and putting up everyone that I would invite to go with me, plus tickets, plus merch,” she said at the time.

The expenses were “all well worth it,” she explained, admitting: “I would’ve paid even more.”
Glaser explained, “I justify that cost because I don’t have kids, and it’s something that I consciously decided not to do, and it was something that I struggled with.”
Choosing not to become a mother “wasn’t the easiest decision” for the roast queen. “There was a part of me that was like, ‘I would like kids,’ but it just doesn’t fit in my life. And so in order for me to make myself feel better about the decision, I did look up how much it cost to raise a kid,” she said.
“And so once I saw that number,” added Glaser, “I thought, ‘It’s no problem for me to spend this on Taylor Swift.’”
