RUMORS TRADE: Warriors may cut ties with Andrew Wiggins in favor of 76ers’ $211 million superstar

Following their inexcusable 114-98 defeat suffered at the hands of the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors have fallen to 18-18 on the season.

The loss surely stung both the franchise and their four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry, who gave reporters a blunt answer when asked how the team could improve at the offensive end during his post-game media availability.

“Honestly, I have no idea,” Curry shared Tuesday night.

“The hard part is (that) these are winnable games against teams that, for whatever reason, are around the same place in the standings that come in and have games against us.”

Golden State’s most recent defeat could motivate their front office and general manager Mike Dunleavy to go back to the drawing board and return to a previous target from this past summer, when the Warriors aimed to trade for nine-time All-Star and potential Hall-of-Famer, Paul George.

Now a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, the six-time All-NBA selection is averaging 16.2 points and 5.6 rebounds while boasting a 0.5 defensive box plus-minus in 24 appearances this season.

At this juncture, George is having an inconsistent experience as a member of the 76ers so far this season, as his 14.1 field goal attempts are the lowest mark of his career since his third season as a member of the Indiana Pacers.

Using the salary of former All-Star and NBA champion Andrew Wiggins paired with young prospects like Brandin Podziemski, the Warriors could potentially still negotiate a deal to land the two-way superstar.

George would hypothetically be the perfect wing to pair with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, as the smooth-scoring forward has also been selected to four All-Defensive teams in his 15-year career.

The 14-20 76ers could seriously consider moving on from George, as they could view their unsuccessful season as an omen of things to come if they keep him around.

On the other hand, Golden State could view the 34-year-old as a piece that increases their chances of title contention this season.
