Joe Rogan has spoken out against claims that popstar Taylor Swift is ‘ruining American football’ by dating NFL star Travis Kelce.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce started dating pop superstar Swift and have gone on to become one of the most famous celebrity couples in recent years.

The pair’s relationship has turned millions of her fans, who label themselves as ‘Swifties’, into NFL fans as they watch to support Kelce and his Chiefs teammates.

However, the introduction of Swift and her fans has not gone down well with all NFL viewers, and now popular podcaster Rogan has spoken out to address Swift’s presence in American football.

During an episode of the UFC commentator’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan discussed how Swift has impacted the NFL with guests Matt McCusker and Shane Gillis.

While Rogan paid tribute to the pop sensation’s success in recent years, he hit back at his guests’ claims that she was ‘ruining’ the sport.

“I find it so fascinating how many people, for whatever reason, are opposed to it. They don’t like that she’s so popular,” said the 57-year-old in June.

But this didn’t stop his guests from making their grievances about Swift known, as McCusker claimed: “She’s ruining the game of football now. That’s the thing now, she’s ruined it.”

Gillis shared this sentiment, adding, “Bro, I can’t even watch it anymore because it cuts to her once or twice during the game, and I see her and I go, ‘Motherf*****,’ it’s crazy.”

But Rogan was unconvinced, asking his guests: “Why do you care?”

To which Gillis responds: “Oh I don’t at all! But I will say this, when they (Kansas City Chiefs) are playing against you, when it’s your team, and then the camera cuts to Taylor Swift, that’s when it builds.”

The American comedian then tells Rogan about Swift annoying fans after watching a Buffalo Bills match in New York during the freezing cold month of January from an indoor box at the Highmark Stadium.

After hearing the story, Rogan appeared to better understand the sentiment of some angry fans, saying: “Out of respect for the players, if you’re going to a buffalos game in January, you should be outside, you’ll feel it more.

“Just bundle up b****! Wear some mittens and s***!”

However, while Swift’s growing presence within the NFL may have angered some fans of the sport, over 70% of a group of players in the league agreed they that believed that her support is positive for the league.
