BREAKING: Dodgers $50 Million Trade Target Predicted To Land With Shocking AL Contender

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a loaded roster, but they’ve still been connected to players who could come in and upgrade their roster.

Dodgers Considering Blockbuster Trade For Luis Robert Jr. - Newsweek

One of these players is Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr., who is coming off a down year but was spectacular in 2023.

He would slot into the outfield for Los Angeles for the next few seasons. Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer doesn’t believe Robert will head to the Dodgers, though. Instead, Rymer predicts the Kansas City Royals to be the team that swipes Robert from the White Sox, even putting together a trade package to send the outfielder to Kansas City. Here’s the deal pitched by Rymer that would send Robert to the Royals instead of the Dodgers: Kansas City Royals receive: OF Luis Robert Jr.

Chicago White Sox receive: RHP Ben Kudrna (No. 3 prospect), OF Gavin Cross (No. 6 prospect) “This is purely speculation, but the Royals should try their hand at plucking Robert from their AL Central rivals,” Rymer wrote.

“They need offensive support for Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez just in general, but especially in center field.

The position produced a .642 OPS and eight home runs this year, numbers that Robert easily cleared even amid his down year. “The Royals aren’t rich in prospect talent, but one supposes that doesn’t give them much to protect. And after a surprising run to the playoffs this year, they might as well go for broke.”

The Royals may be a good match for Robert except for the fact that Kansas City and Chicago play in the same division. While interdivisional trades are rare, they still happen and this could be a case in which it would make sense. In the deal pitched by Rymer, the Royals would send two very good prospects to Chicago for the young Robert.

With Kansas City exceeding expectations in 2024, there’s no reason to not go for broke in an attempt to improve for 2025. Adding Robert would be a huge improvement.
