Tommy Edman, a versatile utility player, was acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers in a mid-season trade in 2024.
His performance was instrumental in the Dodgers’ postseason success, earning him the National League Championship Series (NLCS) MVP honors.
Edman batted .407 with 11 RBIs in the NLCS, tying a Dodgers record for most RBIs in a single postseason series.
Following their World Series victory over the New York Yankees, Edman expressed the team’s ambition to establish a dynasty by securing back-to-back titles, a feat last achieved by the New York Yankees in the late 1990s.
To solidify his role in their future plans, the Dodgers signed Edman to a five-year, $74 million contract extension, including a $17 million signing bonus, ensuring his presence through at least the 2029 season.
The Dodgers have been active in the offseason, re-signing key players and adding new talent to bolster their roster for the 2025 season.
Their Spring Training schedule is set to begin on February 20, 2025, with a game against the Chicago Cubs.
