After clinching their historic 18th championship last season, the Boston Celtics are determined to repeat their success with back-to-back titles this year. The team remains focused on their championship aspirations. The Celtics currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 25-4 record.

One of the key contributors to this effort is Jrue Holiday, who has embraced the team’s defensive goals. During a recent media session, Holiday was asked about head coach Joe Mazzulla’s comments on making the defense more active, particularly in forcing turnovers and getting deflections.

Holiday’s initial reaction to the question drew attention as he playfully widened his eyes in surprise. However, later, his response showed his enthusiasm for the challenge.

“I think it’s just about being active and using your instincts. And that’s something that I always feel like I like to do. Think the game, especially in the defensive end. And be able to get deflections, start the break, and things like that. It’s definitely fun for me being more active,” Holiday said.

I think probably by the seven-minute mark in the first quarter I was gassed and my lungs were going crazy. It’s fun to be able to scramble and run around and be as active as possible,” he added.

Derrick White Praises Jrue Holiday’s Return After Celtics’ Commanding Win

Jrue Holiday made his return to the court against the Toronto Raptors after missing time due to a right shoulder impingement. During the post-game press conference, Holiday’s teammate Derrick White expressed his excitement about having the star guard back in action.

Yeah, he’s a hell of a player, and I told him that before the game that I was excited for him to be back,” White said.

Holiday’s presence was immediately felt as the Boston Celtics secured a 125-71 victory. Despite injury concerns, he played 25 minutes in the game and scored 14 points, had one rebound, and made four assists.
