SURPRISE!!! Andy Reid Will Retire as Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs and Replaced by Dan Lanning

Andy Reid Will Retire as Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs and Replaced by Dan Lanning

The Kansas City Chiefs clinched the Number One seed in the AFC, and could be on their way to a third straight championship.

With success often comes change, and these changes could entail a Travis Kelce retirement, as well as an Andy Reid retirement.

If Andy Reid were to retire, there’s two main candidates: Steve Spagnuolo & Dan Lanning.

Why Dan Lanning Fits:

In a recent show on Thursday Night Football, Dan Lanning discussed his connection to Kansas City while talking to Tony Gonzalez, “I’m from Kansas City, grew up wearing your jersey man.”

This is a guy who truly would be a culture fit for what Andy Reid and company have built there, as he’s built the respect in the Oregon locker room after having the chance to jump to another college program in Alabama but decided to stay with his squad and they then went 12-0.

There needs to be real conversations about when Andy Reid will hang it up because if we discuss guys heading out while on top, this would be the best way to go.

If it’s not a Dan Lanning, Coach Spags would be a perfect option as he’s been a major part of the well-respected culture in Kansas City, and they’d have the successor in house.
